Cape San Blas, FL is where the best family beach memories are made!

When you return we would love to have your comments & pictures too!

Bev and Larry Sutler (Oct/Nov 2017)
We want to thank you for sharing Cape Escape with us. We had a wonderful month in # 52 Sea Breeze. It was equipped with everything that you could possibly want. The kitchen has more dishes and more pots and pans than I have at home.

This was our first visit to this part of Florida and we loved it. The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there. We will be returning and now we know to bring less stuff.   The people and all the wonderful dogs were great !!!! We love the quiet atmosphere and the greatest plus was being able to bring our GUS ( Long coated shepherd ).

Please keep us in mind when you have cancellations. Now that we are both retired maybe we could sneak away on short notice.

Thank you for making things so easy,

Gus boy also says thanks Wendy

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas !!!!

Vanessa D.  (October 2017)
I could not have asked for a better rental or experience.  It was absolutely beautiful and very relaxing.  It was so nice to have all the beach essentials available for us (beach chairs, cooler, toys, etc.).  We have already talked about trying to make it back again before the end of the year.  This will definitely be our new yearly vacation destination.  I work remote and am an introvert by nature.  I was pleasantly surprised by the comradery and friendliness of all of the other guests at the Barrier Dunes.  Added a whole new dimension by meeting others that also brought along their fur babies.

I appreciate the heads up about booking direct in the future.  (Also EXTREMELY helpful about the time zone fluctuations…BUT what was funny is we just quit paying attention to the time.  Having spotty cell coverage was also a blessing because my boss could not reach by cell on my vacation).

Angela Dye and Family (July 2017)
We had such a special stay! Thank you for all the small touches to make things more convenient like kitchen and beach items and for your thoroughness and help. we hope to be back very soon. The directions,  beach and accommodations were perfect.

Enjoy the rest of summer! Thank you so much!

Lisa Merrow & Family (May 2017)
All was perfect and another memorable family gathering. Your communication was impeccable.

Amy, Lana, and I had a GREAT time at the beach in Turtle Crawl!  The weather was beautiful and the condo was clean and well stocked and furnished.  Thank you for your help in making last minute plans.  You are always easy to work with and I appreciate your helpfulness.  Attached are a few of pictures.

My wife, our dog, and I want to tell you how enjoyable our stay in your Unit 191 in December was.  When we arrived, we found the unit, and everything in it, to be very clean.  The unit was very well supplied with virtually anything a vacationer could need or want.

The beach was a short walk away and was also clean and wide.  We walked twice each day for at least an hour.  Our dog loved it, but refused to go into the ocean or even get his feet wet.

The time we spent in Unit 191 was the perfect relaxation for us and we hope to return next December.

Susanne Goodman (October 2016)

We loved our time in the unit and appreciated that it was clean when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and you were spot on with directions on access and flexible with our check-in. We were especially pleased that it all happened at the last minute and you were so accommodating so thank you!

It’s my second stay in these units and I’ll be sure to return. I’m happy to recommend to others.

Debra Marler (October 2016)
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Turtle Crawl.  It’s such a “beachy” house and very relaxing.  We actually came there to ride out Hurricane Matthew.  What a blessing to have found your lovely house.  My sister was visiting from PA and really enjoyed her stay.  We loved being able to walk to the beach.  We ate at Sunset Coastal Grille the last night we were there.  The food was good and the view spectacular.

A little bit of history:  My husband’s great uncle, Ernest Marler, was the Asst. lighthouse keeper at Cape San Blas lighthouse and died in 1938 (he was actually murdered according to historical records, but it is still unknown who did it and why).  There is a book published called “Secrets of Cape San Blas!”  It’s based on Ernest Marler but fictional.  Very interesting read.  It’s a coincidence that the code was the same as the date he died.  Also, there was a picture of the lighthouse on the wall. And the master bedroom had a plaque with “Captain’s Quarters” on it.  My husband is a Captain, his father was a Captain and his grandfather was a Captain.  All from Destin, Fl.  My husband’s name is David Ernest Marler, named after his great uncle.  You can imagine our surprise when we arrived to find all of this.  It was like it was meant to be!

We would love to come back again when were not escaping storms and can take advantage of all that you have to offer.
Thank you for the short mini vacation in your beautiful house!
Debra Marler (The “Captain’s” Wife)

Susan Fuller (August 2016)
What a wonderful place!  That’s the most relaxed I’ve been in years. The dogs had a blast!  I certainly hope to go back before too long.

Mary Nagle (August 2016)
Thank you, Wendy, we had a lovely time during our short stay.  We wished we could have stayed longer.  The rental home was nice and efficient. It is truly just a short walk or steps to the beach.  The beach buggy was very helpful to carry the beach items.  Turtle Crawl was supplied with all the starter needs and even came with wood to have a small fire on the beach, however, we did not do-it was way too hot to do so.  Our dogs enjoyed the morning/evening walks on the beach.  It was nice to bring them, although, they were too chicken to go into the water!  The area is very well maintained and quiet, the way we like it.  We will sure be a return customer!!

Vivian Pozo  (April 2016)
Wendy: we had a great time visiting the Cape! Beaches were absolutely beautiful and the “squeaky” sugar sand brings back memories of my childhood. We spent a day kayaking the leeward side of St. Vincent National Wildlife Preserve and did a hike over the island tip to the beach side. Such a peaceful and enchanting place is St. Vincent! Did some biking another day into St Joseph Peninsula State Park and then south on the bike trail, fabulous biking! So much to do and too little time. We wished we didn’t have to leave so soon. My husband said it is best to leave before you want to because that means you want to return!

Robert Collins (April 2016)
Thank you – family loved the vacation spot and accommodations

Krista & Andy Robards (October 2015)
We had such a great time at your condo.   My black  Scottie girls Midge & Mandy were just perfect on their 1st beach vacation!  It was so amazing how they settled right in & loved everything as much as we did.  The weather was perfect for the dogs being cooler in the mornings & evenings for their outings.  The porch with the gate worked as a safe place to roll & dry after their daily baths.

One evening we went horseback riding for our 28th year anniversary at sunset.  The weather was changing so we didn’t get a sunset we were looking for, but the rainbow was outstanding in the distance!

We grilled outside on the porch for our dinners & enjoyed seeing others with & without their pets go by.  Everyone was friendly & wanted to pet my girls.  The Dockside Grill even had a area the dogs could sit with you in town.

Thanks Wendy for helping us with the perfect place on such a short notice!  We will be coming back next fall!  Here are a couple pictures.  Thanks again!

Molly Merkle & Family (May/June 2017)
Thank you for checking in. We had a fantastic week at Cape San Blas. We appreciate you sharing your home with us so much. It was in great shape, clean, well-stocked, and very close to the beach and pools. Our younger girls loved watching turtles at the pond.

We enjoyed shopping in Apalachicola and Dave and I took time for a late lunch at The Owl Cafe one day. That is something we now look forward to every year. This was our fifth year returning to the Cape and I know we'll be back. I try to describe Cape San Blas to folks who are familiar with the 30A beaches in Walton County. The Cape is not crowded (most of the time), the beaches are gorgeous with terrific shelling, the sea life/wildlife is incredible, and it's perfect for low-key family time, especially to include our dog. We play a lot of games and cards, go crabbing and dog-walking on the beach, cook most of our meals in, just enjoy being together and not rushing around. We did enjoy a day on the bay with kayaks and paddle boards with Happy Ours. We loved getting to see the sea turtles.

Thank you for making our rental experience easy and trouble-free. We didn't have any problems, but I knew if I needed to contact you we'd be well taken care of.  I did buy a can opener for the house, and would have enjoyed a larger colander, but otherwise we had everything we needed.

Thank you again for generously sharing your home.

Pat Bible (May 2017)  Barrier Dunes 52 - Sea Breeze
Wendy,  Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our first trip to the Cape. Sea Breeze (52) far exceeded our expectations. We found the home very clean and well stocked, (which was much appreciated). It was also very short walk to beach and pool areas. We really loved the beach (great sunset's!), both pool areas and just relaxing. Husband really enjoyed fishing on beach. Would highly recommend the Cape to anyone who travels with their pets. We travel with our 8yr old Maltipoo, who loves the beach as much as we do!! Pleased to find such a pet friendly place!! This was our first time to area, but hopefully not our last. We loved everything  about the Cape and hope to be repeat guests at Sea Breeze. Thank you for making the whole process so easy and being available for any questions we had.

Debborah Youell (January 2017)  Barrier Dunes 52 - Sea Breeze
We stayed at Sea Breeze for two weeks in January.  Our only regret is that we didn’t plan to stay longer!  Everything about Barrier Dunes was absolutely perfect for us…from outstanding communication with Wendy, to the beautiful condo and its location near the beach, and especially the fact that the condo AND the beach were dog friendly.  We had never vacationed with Charlie (a full-size Collie!)  before but he loved the beach as well.  We met so many wonderful, friendly people (and their fur-children!) and we are planning to go back next year for a month.

What we loved most, besides the dog-friendly atmosphere, is that Cape San Blas is quiet this time of year  and somewhat remote.  Golf and restaurants aren’t too far away, though.  We found a couple of restaurants that allowed Charlie to come along too!  We met a couple on the beach that was from our home state and the guys played golf a couple of times.  We got lots of exercise walking through the neighborhood and on the beach; when it was cool outside we took the time to get caught up on some reading.  We give Sea Breeze and Barrier Dunes an A+!

Rob and Darlene Jurand (September 2016)
Gulf Breeze was clean, completely outfitted with all we needed and it enabled us to have a wonderful vacation.  You told me you thought we would like Gulf Breeze and you were right.  My husband commented on the "Relax" sign in the kitchen and said it was so appropriate because that is exactly what we did.  What a great complex and area--you guys have really found a jewel of a spot in the world.

We were afforded beautiful weather through the week, caught some Triple Tail which we thoroughly enjoyed cooking for a couple of delicious dinners (went out with Captain Carl off of Indian Pass--he was great!), built some fabulous bonfires on the beach while we took in the evening ocean breeze and gorgeous stars.  Sunsets were magical and all the people we met throughout the week were so very friendly and nice.  It was very convenient to have the beach chairs, the beach buggy, pet towels--so many items that we used and didn't have to bring from home. This was our pup's first visit to the beach and we think she appreciated her time as well--what's the saying..."a tired dog is a happy dog!" and she was pooped out and happy!

During the week, we took a trip to Apalachicola--what a quaint little town with its shops, restaurants and fishing village feel.  We also went to the nearby Indian Pass Raw Bar and ate some of the best and most fresh shrimp and oysters.  We're very much looking forward to another visit to the Cape--maybe during scalloping season next year so we can experience the scalloping adventure we've heard so much about.  We originally considered visiting Cape San Blas for only a long weekend.  We are so glad we decided on staying a full week--what a marvelous week it was!

No worries on the DVD player--you're correct that our player at home is Blue Ray and the one at Gulf Breeze is not.  Since you have HBO at the condo, we found plenty of other movies to enjoy.

Feel free to use any of my comments for your website.  Thank you, again, for all of your help and service.

Mike and Becky Earlywine - Repeats (October 2017)
We returned home safely after a long but relaxing drive.  We had an incredible time at the cape again this year.

We love the Seabreeze condo.  It is just the perfect situation for us.
After visiting for five years straight we now have favorite things to do and places  to go in PSJ.  The beach was wonderful at this time of the year.  The water was incredibly blue and seemed even more blue somehow this year.   The Barrier Dunes is such a great community!
Thank you for everything you do to keep everything organized and making sure our stay is stress free!
We hope to return next year.

The Stewart's - Repeat Guests (September 2016)  Barrier Dunes 52 - Sea Breeze
Wendy, Thanks so much for finding us a BEAUTIFUL rental on such short notice!  We all appreciate you getting things set up so quickly so that we could extend our time at the Cape  (a week is never enough).  Barrier Dunes is almost like our second home and Unit 52 had a great view and location.  It was so nicely decorated and you always have so many extras included it’s hard to beat!!  I couldn’t get over how great the beach looked and how calm and clear the water was.  September and October always means fewer people on the beach, less heat and humidity,  better nights for bonfires and shorter lines for eating out!  Glad to see ya’ll down there enjoying yourselves as well!  Can’t wait to come back down again,  Georgia, Ashlyn, Sparky and Roxy

Dana Henderson (July 2016)     Barrier Dunes 91 - Cape Escape II
We had a great time and loved the place we stayed.  For potential guests who do not have pets, I was worried about going to a place that allowed pets because of smell, etc., and almost didn't book.   However, I must say, it was CLEAN and there was NO smell.   The dogs on the beach were leashed, well behaved and did not bother us in any way. I would recommend this place for those who don't have pets.

Thank you so much.

Sandy Dean  (July 2016)    Barrier Dunes 188 -  Turtle Tracks
We absolutely loved it. Wendy! You will be hearing from us again but for a longer stay. Thank you for all the great info and communicating so well.   It meant a lot to us.

Elsa Donates & Family (June 2016)  Barrier Dunes 67 - Cape Escape I
Had an amazing time at your place , it was very clean and very accommodating.. The cape is very family oriented and pet friendly which made it very special to be able to bring our four legged baby..I truly enjoyed the visit there, life is about making memories and we definitely  made a few. My son got engaged on the beach at sundown and the event was amazing!!! Looking forward to coming back real soon...Thank you again!!!

Karen Wolfe and Family (June 2016)    Barrier Dunes 91 - Cape Escape II
We arrived back home (all of us and pups) safely yesterday.  We were tired but already missing the lovely condo and the beach we left behind.  I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful experience we had renting through you.  I have already told all my friends all about the place and our experience.  I will email you more details this week and some pictures once I get them uploaded off my camera.  Thank you again for giving us a vacation we'll never forget!

Wayne Carr (May 2016)  Barrier Dunes 52 - Sea Breeze
We and our dog enjoyed our stay very much and we plan to return.  The Cape is a beautiful place and quite, which is nice in comparison to the hustle and bustle of many of the other options.  There was very little traffic and no noise.  I didn’t see a single parasail, fly by advertisement or party boat.  In fact, only one airplane flew by and it looked lost.

We stopped on the way in and bought groceries but we discovered that if we needed anything the grocery store next to the donut shop had a little of everything.  In fact, we bought a couple of filets from there that were as good as any I’ve had.  For us, having the state park next door and the bike path the entire length of the Cape was great.  It was nice to mix a little riding and exploring with beach time.  This was our dog’s first beach vacation and our first time to have a dog with us at the beach.  It won’t be our last.  Dogs are experts at relaxation and our dog gave us several suggestions for how to maximize our relaxation time

Julie E.  (April 2016)   Barrier Dunes 67 - Cape Escape I
We enjoyed exploring/visiting Cape San Blas and only wish we had more time. The Cape Escape community is wonderful and felt super welcoming. We loved the local Trading Post for groceries (amazing selection for its size), t shirts and yummy cookies. Obviously, walking the beach, bird watching, and swimming were enjoyed by our family. Coming out of a Vermont winter, 70 degree water didn't feel too bad!  I found having the two pools and tennis courts at Barrier Dunes a bonus as well. Though we really never felt a need to leave the Cape, exploring fun shops in Port St. Joe and Apalachicola one cloudy, rainy day was a great diversion. I love to cook, so getting your recommendation of a the local seafood market meant we didn't go out to dinner at all!

Hopefully we will make another trip back and think we might look into flying to Tallahassee since it is only two hours away.

Best to you and thank you for being so accommodating. I hope we can rent something from you again!

on and off the beach.  Our only regret was that we only stayed 3 nights.

Sally Imgruet (June 2015)
Thank you for all your help!  We had a fantastic time at Cape San Blas!  Will definitely  try to get down there again in the future.   Loved everything :-)!!

Rita Petty (May 2015)
We enjoyed our stay at Barrier Dunes 52.  The kitchen is very well equipped for most everything.  The bed was almost as good as at home!  The condo is very convenient to the beach and the beach was absolutely beautiful.  Our trip there was everything I expected and more!  We both came back very rested and ready to charge.  Thank you for everything.

The Coleman Family (June 2015)
We had a wonderful stay at Barrier Dunes!  The beach was amazing!  My family and I loved the fact that it was not crowded & very family oriented.  We didn’t have to worry about loud & annoying music or obnoxious people.  We were able to enjoy the peaceful sounds of the waves during the day and a bonfire with the waves at night!  Very dog friendly.

Finding the beach at the condo was a very pleasant surprise & made our short walk to the beach so much easier.

Thanks again for your willingness to be so specific and for your willingness to let me family arrive a little early.  We do plan to visit again in the near future!

Diane Reock (December 2014/January 2015)
We had a nice time at Turtle Crawl (Barrier Dunes 191) and were so impressed by your villa!  You are a wonderful host and obviously thought of every detail--definitely picked up a few good tips for our properties in SC!!

The master bedroom was so well appointed and the bed was super comfortable.  Your beach closet held another treasure trove of amenities which we so appreciated.

Having such a well equipped kitchen was another huge plus for us - we enjoyed creating meals with the abundance of local seafood.  We were also struck by the helpfulness and friendliness of your neighbors--very nice community.

Again, many thanks for making your lovely home - and it really does feel like a home! --available to us at such short notice!

Jim Shivers (November 2014)
We had a great trip.  The unit was very nice, particularly how well decorated it was.   The weather was a bit cool and breezy, but not enough to keep us from several long walks on the beach, which is even prettier than I remembered from our last visit.  Ate in mostly, but did have a quick beer at the Indian Pass Raw Bar and a great lunch at the Owl, which is our favorite in the area. The Raw Bar isn't quite as much fun since Big Jim cleaned it up and Gator isn't smoking while he cooks, but still a classic.  All in all a very nice trip at a very nice rental.

We also appreciate your prompt notification regarding the deposit.  We pride ourselves in taking care of rental units as if we owned them and have never failed to get the full deposit returned, but sometimes it can take a while.

If you ever have any last minute specials when the forecast looks good please drop us an email.   Being retired does provide a lot of flexibility.

Hope all you holidays will be good.

Rebecca Burgess (September 2014- Multiple Repeats)
We fished our hearts out, witnessed every sunset from the beach, drove to Apalach for dinner, so I would say another great trip!

Jerica Walden & Family (August 2014)
Thank you so much!  We had a great time!  It wwas ery comfortable.  The wedding was very sweet.  It was 90 mintues away, but still worth it to stay at the Cape.  The beach was absolutely amazing!  We are used to the east cast/St. Augustine side, so this coast was very unique to us.  We ate at "Up the Creek" in Apalachicola---it was AMAZING!!

Thank you for a wonderful rental, completely stocked for a memory filled family vacation.

Connie Strickland (Mar/Apr 2014)
We had a great time and Barrier Dunes 191 - Turtle Crawl was very comfortable and we all had a relaxing mini-vacation.  We hope to come back in the future with more of our family.   Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful place!
The Gallo's (Jan - March 2014)
Hubby and I spent January, February & part of March 2014 at Wendy's Turtle Crawl (Barrier Dunes 191) with our 2 dogs & could not have been more pleased.  The unit is decorated beautifully & comfortably.  The beds were just as comfy as our own at home, the kitchen has everything and more that you will need, the living furniture was great to lounge on, nice clean carpeting throughout the house and 3 balconies was a real plus too!

Wendy's attention to detail in your rentals & her willingness to provide quick response on any request makes her rentals a real "cut above" others.

The Barrier Dunes complex is a great place for snowbirds and their dogs and is kept up very well.  Easy new friendships can be made and WEndy keeps on top of upcoming events, etc. on the Barrier Dunes Snowbirds page so you know what's going on and can join the fun.

We would highly recommend and will make sure to return to Cape San Blas nextg winter!

Sparky, Georgia and Ashlyn Stewart (Dec. 2013/January 2014)
We had a great time at the Cape. We hadn't stayed at Barrier Dunes in years (since we sold) so it was great to see how well maintained the grounds were and how gorgeous the beach looks!

The unit was very nice and really well equipped. I liked being on the back side of Barrier Dunes (very quite) too. We were able to have a bonfire on the beach New Years Eve and enjoy all the fireworks.  It was nice to just chill out and relax after the holidays.. Our dog, Roxy loved taking beach walks as did Ashlyn and myself!

Thanks for making everything so easy and when we're ready to return to Barrier Dunes we'll let you know.

Dawn and Terry O'Kelly (Dec. 2013/January 2014
We made it and loved the place. Wish the weather would have cooperated but we made the best of it.   We had a great time and celebrated New Years Eve in style. Thanks for making it happen. We will definitely be back. Possibly the same unit as it was well stocked, home like and very comfortable.

Thanks again for a good vacation, looking forward to visiting again. Our dogs loved the beach and we are very grateful for a dog friendly place like this!
Susan O'Neal (December 2013)

The condo was great and Amy and I had a fantastic holiday. All the people I met were so friendly. I hope we can return in the near future for another fantastic holiday.  Thank you. I hope your Christmas was merry, as well.

The Greens (October 2013)

Thanks a bunch Wendy, we had a blast and will definitely be back. J We have already suggested we do a family reunion there.  We have already had 3 other couples ask about your property from my work and we couldn't tell them enough good things. You all really pay attention to detail and make your guests feel right at home.

Tommy and Suzanne Istvanki & Pups (August 2013 - Multiple Repeat Guests)
Once again you've proved your professional side. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barrier Dunes.

Ilona, our 7 year old, taught Ellie, our 6 month old, how to swim in the ocean.

We had a great time and the storms worked around our schedule.  From a romantic dance and a fire on the beach, Suzanne and I ranked this stay the absolute best beach vacation to date.( 17 years of marriage celebration.)

Thank you again so much.  We are now planning  winters stay for possibly February.

Your The best!

Cheryl Corlee (July 2013)

Thank you so much for sharing your condo with us.  It was wonderful and everything was just as your website described.  But I must commend you for the extra effort in supplying all the little items such as cleaning supplies and toiletries.  We rented a four bedroom condo and its attached apartment in Navarre Beach only to discover upon our arrival that there was not one square inch of toilet paper in any of the four bathrooms.  Going back to the grocery store instead of the beach was not what we had planned.  Sometimes it really is the little things that count the most.

Thank you for all your patience and help with the reservations.

Hi Wendy.   We made it back ok... snow...yuck!  I'd rather be walking on the beach!  Now i understand why retirees become "snowbirds!"  Cape San Blas was everything you said it would be. It's the perfect place for us. We met so many wonderful people too, very friendly & welcoming.

We hiked, played tennis, fished, went to the gym in port st. joe a few times a week. next time we will bring our bikes &  Angelo wants to get an ocean kayak to explore the bay. There's so much wildlife to see: dolphins, sharks, deer, birds, alligators, snakes, manatees, wow...everyday...something different. We went to Wakulla Springs State Park which was beautiful (& educational).  We went to some of the local restaurants you suggested &  the food was great. The local folks are so helpful & sweet, which made our visit even more special.  Our dog lexi had the best vacation of her life! (our little dog Chloe past away on Christmas eve :(  she was 15 & it was quite sudden)   We really needed to get away after the holidays & just relax... we enjoyed every day in Barrier Bunes...& the sunsets are so breathtaking!  You have a great place there  Wendy, it felt so homey & comfortable, we didn't want to leave.  Thank you for the best vacation ever!

Pet Friendly Beach Florida Vacation Rentals                Pet Friendly Beach Rentals Cape San Blas FL

Curtis and Paulette Peil, January 2013
We just finished the best vacation in thirty (30) years. These are the things that we enjoyed. The direct view of The Gulf and the porch off of the living area. It was a great place to rest with our buddies (dogs) & to enjoy the great weather (in January). We rode our bike's frequently and found the closeness to St Joseph State Park & the bike trail along side 30E to give us a safe trail & enjoyable scenery. Conehead's restaurant, which is within walking distance, tuned out to be one of our favorites. Their seafood gumbo is tremendous. They have a full menu with quality food at a reasonable price. The beach was fabulous & the other guests were friendly. Everyone was dog friendly and took responsibility for their pets. The pet stations and walking areas in the facility were handy & well planned out. The condo was equiped with everything one would need and more and the information provided helped us to be familiar with the community. When I needed assistance, Wendy and her staff, were prompt & professional in helping us. We definitely will be back. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Mike and Becky Earlywine, October 2012
We loved the condo.  Even though it was not directly fronting the gulf.  The grounds are beautifully landscaped, that is important to me as a amateur gardener/landscape designer.  The beach was just about perfect.  It was a great time of year to visit.  My wife was really pleased and our dogs enjoyed the ocean water for the first time!

Thanks for your help with the rental.

Wendell Murray, September 2012
We had a wonderful time last week! Turtle Crawl was very comfortable and we were very pleased with how well equipped it was and surprised by the little extras like garbage bags, plastic wrap, laundry detergent etc... all those little things you would need for the week. We've stayed many places on the Gulf Panhandle the last 22 years or so and we've never stayed anywhere that was as well supplied as Turtle Crawl is. Thank you!

The beach was lovely. The dogs wouldn't get in the water but enjoyed the beach and the other dogs who were visiting. We were able to take them into Port Saint Joe for lunch at Dockside Grill and even to Tamara's in Apalachicola for a wonderful dinner with the dogs beside us.

It was a week of rest we sorely needed. We will definitely consider coming back to Cape San Blas and Turtle Crawl in the future!

Dee Arnold, September 2011
Thanks Wendy! We had a great time. The accommodations were as described, plus some!!

Tara and Presley Mallett, September 2011
We had a wonderful time on your beautiful beach. It was a perfect weekend & location for a wedding. The accommodations were exactly what we needed and very conveniently located for all wedding associated activities. Thank you for your help and we will likely see you again!

Ashley Boggs and Ronnie Marshall, July 2011
We had a wonderful time. The accommodations were perfect. It has been our favorite place to stay so far in 6 years. The only wish we had was for more time. When we come back, and we will, a week or more is necessary. We never made it to Port St. Joe to visit! Just passed through. We snorkeled all day. Placed on the beach in the evening with flash lights and my son fished. The dogs were in heaven as well. My cocker spaniel loves to swim in the wiaves. And my 15 year olds had plenty of people to talk to. GREAT family vacatin. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Ron Waggoner, June 2011
We had a great time and the condo was perfect for us. We cooked shrimp and steaks on the grill. Freshest shrimp I've had in quite a while. Took a side trip to Mexico Beach and let Nathan ride a waverunner while there (we watched from the bar at the El Govenor Hotel). Went to the Indian Pass Raw Bar --AWESOME! The beach and amenities at Barrier Dunes were great. Everything exceeded our expectations. Thanks for introducing us to this area of Florida. So much nicer than the congested Destin/Panama City area. We will definitely be back!!

Julie Cassidy, March 2011 (repeat guests!)
We arrived home safely last night.  We returned to temps in the 30's.
Once again we had a great Spring Break at Cape San Blas.  It was so nice to return and find the accomodations just as nice as last year!  We had perfect weather this year and spent most of our time on the beach collecting shells and taking in the beautful sunsets.  We had hoped to try kayaking in the bay this year but had to cancel due to the windy conditions.  The people at "Happy Ours" seem quite helpful and we hope to try again on our next trip to the Cape!  Thanks!

Ken Mayes and Family, June 2011 (written by Hannah Mayes)
Thank you soooo much for letting us stay at one of your condominiums. I had way too much fun! I enjoyed being on the beach and h aving peace and quite with the sound of the waves, it was just unbelievable that there was so much room on the beach. Being able to bring my big moose of a dog, Molly, was fun. Especially since she was scared of the waves at first. I loved how it was so clean and they had games and movies, beach toys etc. already there. A am hoping ot come back soon! I had so muhc fun. Thank you for letting us stay there. I wished we could have stayed longer. I am Mr. Mayes' youngest daughter, just turned 14, Hannah, and wil try to get them to take me back soon!

Leslie Toney, March 2011
Our stay at Turtle Crawl was great.  The Barrier Dunes is a wonderful location for walking, hiking the State Park trails, bay and beaches.  The weather was a little cool, but absolutely clear, blue sunny skies the whole time.  The evening sunsets were beautiful, so we enjoyed driving into St. Joe, Apalach, and Indian Pass for our dinners.  We brought our bikes and rode the bike trai, various roads on Cape San Blas and throughout the State Park.  Thank you for a comfortable stay at the Cape!

Jeanne Mika, October-November 2010 (Repeat Guests)
We had a nice time.....a very relaxing week.  The condo was perfect, once again.  Clean and provided everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.  I'm sure you'll hear from us again.  My mother and Aunt came by from Panama City for the day and fell in love with the area.  My aunt has already said she'll be renting.  Until next time...

Sharon Williams, August 2010
We had a great time.  Even though it was overcast, it worked out better for Blue (Great Dane).  He is used to A/C and the heat got to him. He didn't care for the water much, but I think if our trip had been longer he would have gotten to love it.  The accommodations were perfect for us, very clean and comfortable.  He really was an attraction on the beach, was well mannered and played will with the bigger dogs.  The little ones growled and barked at him and he would come running back to us.

We loved the Trading Post (NOTE:  this is 1 of the 2 convenience stores on the Cape).  The folks running it are very nice and their kids loved Blue.  We definitely think this will be our vacation spot & will be in touch. It's a great place for us, pets, children and grandkids.  I love where you take the little ones out and they can have a little freedom.

Again, thanks for the ease and help you gave us trying a new place and for helping us with what we needed for our trip!

Rebecca Burgess, August 2010 (Repeat Guests)
Our trip was sublime.  Don and I were amazed that we packed so much activitiy into a single trip and still felt rested and restored.  No doubt, the ambiance and convenience at Turtle Crawl contributed.  We fished and beached and dined out every day and came "home' to familiar comforts.

I'll contact  you for our next trip.  We may try a long weekend in the late fall or early winter to check out the fishing!

Paul Daniel, July 2010
We loved the place!  Seriously, you guys know what you are doing.  I have traveled all over the world and have not seen any place that is as well run and organized as your vacation townhouse in Cape San Blas.  Everything we needed to have a great little vacation was there!  The white binder was very helpful with what to do information and saved me lots of time.  For a rental, the apartmet was in very good shape and the beach was nicer than most beaches in Europe!

Jeffrey Moore, July 2010
We are on the road headed back to Tennessee.  We had a fantastic time in Barrier Dunes on Cape San Blas!  I have a feeling Cape San Blas will be replacing our usual summer beach destination.  In fact, there is already talk among the family about a return trip sometime later this year!  Thanks again for our help and assistance in arranging our vacation rental this week!

Gail Hebert, April 2010
Your place is just beautiful and so peaceful.  And talk about feeling safe on a was incredible!!  I was out walking Annie at 6 a.m. with no worries whatsoever.  The beach sure beats our Texas coast, hands down! .....I was worried about making reservation based solely on internet pics, but it was even more beautiful than the internet showed.  Thank you Wendy for such a memorable vacation get away!

Dale Overstreet, April 2010
Thank you!  We had a wonderfully relaxing week.  We only ventured out once.  I never even knew what time it was.  I slept when I got sleepy and ate when I got hungry.  It was great!

Kandy Hill, April 2010
It was great, Wendy, and we really enjoyed our stay.  Turtle Crawl was perfect for us and such a lovely, lovely setting!  Thank you so much for all your help and your great communication and making us feel welcomed.  Rocky, our apricot poodle, was in heaven.  He had a really great time and made lots of new friends.  Hope to be there again one day!  Blessings and thanks!

Eric Salazar, March 2010
We had a wonderful time at Turtle Crawl, we can't wait to return.  Thank you very much for letting us stay in such a great place.  Everything was well in order for our stay, we should have stayed time!

Pam McKemi, March 2010 (Atlanta, GA)
Your place was breat.  So very relaxing and the weather was perfect.  I will keep your contact information because I'll be back!

Marlies Quattrochi, March 2010
We had a WONDERFUL tine at Cape San Blas and we will definitely be back again and again.  The Turtle Crawl is super nice unit!  You are a very thoughtful person for we could tell that you put a lot of thought into everything there.  We tend to cook most of our meals whenever we go to the beach and there is always something missing here or there that I wish we had, but you had everything I could possibly need!  I very much appreciated the variety of casserole dishes, bowls, a non-stick skillet (!), utensils and the dog bowls!!!  O ur dog was in heaven here!  We took her on every was fun to see that she enjoyed herself as much as we did.

You were so right...we fell in love with the Cape.  The natural environment is something iI have been looking for since childhood vacations to Florida in the 60's, before the major developments.  We went on the Hammock Trail and it was overwhelmingly beautiful!  We did light a bonfire on the beach, loved that, and visited the lighthouse and talked with Beverly.  We all loved her!  I got a copy of her book Apalachicola to read up for future visits.

Thanks so much for everything.  We had a wonderful time.

Barbara Bowman, February 2010 (Repeat Guest)
We had a wonderful time...the place is just prefect. We really enjoyed the improvements (new furniture pieces).  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.  The dogs are still dreaming of their romps on the beach and swimming.  We've already bragged on you several times!

Nancy and Jim Kennedy, Traverse City Michigan
We had a terrific time at Sea Breeze during our first vacation to your area.  The accommodations were excellent;  very clean with an excellent layout.  The area is so beautiful and the town of Port St. Joe was terrific in terms of restaurants and shopping for food and gifts.  The Port St. Joe Country Club provided a nice golf course alternative for anyone interested in this activity.  The Barrier Dunes complex is a perfect size with 2 nice pools and tennis courts.  The temperatures were generally in teh 60's, plenty warm for us to walk several times daily on the most beautiful beach we have encountered.  The other guests were always friendly and the dog situation is handled very effectively by all.

We check other potential accommodation options in the area and determined Barrier Dunes provided the best vacation spot for us in the future.  Your handling of our stay was excellent.  The whole experience was everything expected from our many conversations prior to our arrival.  Because we were new to this area, your advice was accurate and sincerely appreciated!

David Floyd, August 2009
WOW!  What an awesome time & a GREAT house.  We had the best time & I can't wait to get back to the Cape!  Our first visit there & it won't be our last.  We had everything we needed & more was a truly a relaxing vacation.

I look forward to coming back & enjoying your place again.

April Dorber, July 2009
Turtle Crawl was everything you said it was and more.  We had a very comfortable and relaxing time.

We would definitely come back for a Cape Escape and have told another couple who has a sweet lab mix that would just love to romp around Barrier Dunes.

Tiffany Pollock, July 2009

Thank you for everything!  We had a fabulous week.  Turtle Crawl exceeded our expectations.  Thank you for making our vacation so memorable.

Kathy Panov, May 2009

We had such a wonderful time at the Cape!  Your beach house was SO great!  You really did think of everything!  IT was so very comfortable, felt just like home!  The beach--gorgeous!  And we have never met so many nice people in one place!  So we thank you for the opportunity to stay at your house and to bring our dog as well, how is now (still) going through beach withdrawal!

We will definitely be telling everyone we know about your place and hope to return sometime soon!  Thanks for everything!!

Rebecca Givens Boone, April/May 2009

We enjoyed the stay at the Cape and especially at Sea Breeze!    I will definitely keep that particular condo on the list for future rentals.

The wedding was all that we could have hoped for -- perfect weather, perfect accommodations at the clubhouse and all the people who were staying at the Cape were so nice!

Thank you for your hospitality and you can bet we will be back soon.

Jane Cahill, March 2009

I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed Turtle Crawl & Barrier Dunes.  You had almost everything anyone would need.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I have never rented a vacation home over the internet or without a friends recommendation but we loved Barrier Dunes and the area.  The grounds were lovely and the condo was immaculate and so nicely decorated.  We loved the walks on the beach, watching the dolphins, collecting shells and so much more.  We also went horseback riding on the beach and booked a boating/snorkeling trip with Seahorse Safaris.

I have to thank you for all the information you provided on your website.  We used all of it.  This was a great trip and so easy to do with our dogs.  We were able to take them most everywhere.  Being able to take them on the beach made it so easy.  I also have to comment on how clean and well maintained the grounds are.

Wendy, thanks again for your assistance.

Judy Bateman, February / March 2009
The condo is very easy to relax in and comfortable to live in.  The location was perfect!  We walked the beach every day, picnicked in the park and at the lighthouse, rode our bikes several times in the park and on the bike trail, ate shrimp from the Piggly Wiggly several times and had to return 3 times to the Chocolate Company in Apalachicola.  The setting is just what we like.  Next time I'll bring a mat and join the exercise class.  Thanks for everything!

Lori Law, November 2008

We had a wonderful time there and we absolutely will be coming back.  I loved Apalach, the restaurants and the shopping.  We had a great massage in Port St. Joe.  His name is David Oakley at the Donamelia salon.  Next time we go I want to go fishing and do the horseback riding on the beach.  I also adopted a dog from the Humane Society while I was there and she's been great!  Four months old, part Lab, part Catahoula and my Golden loves her.  We loved the shopping up there too.  We were surprised.  The people were wonderful, so nice everywhere we went.  Anyway, thank you so much!

Bob and Barb Smith, September 2008  (Atlanta GA)

Turtle Crawl is a great  unit.  It is so convenient to the beach.  The sunsets were not too spiffy because of the weather but what the heck.  We did manage to go over to Apalach one day and eat at the grill.  The rest of the meals we did at "The Crawl".  We ate oysters ($25 for a bushel-60 lbs) till they ran out of our ears.  When you figure about 300 in 60 lbs, that is less than 10 cents each.  That is a bargain.

I have owned units previously over in Destin at Seascape.  That place is TOO crowded now and I got out........

With all that being said we are looking at our calendars to see when we may be able to get back down there.  Of all the places we have been, Turtle Crawl is one of the nicest units we have ever stayed in.

Thanks again!

Danny & Maura Walker (and Blue & Gabby), September 2008

This was a great vacation.  I'm not sure if it was because of the sueason, but at time it was like we were the only people on the beach (which we like).  So that was great for the dogs who could run and swim as they pleased.  I'm sure it was the best vacation they had so far.  We will definitely be back.  Thanks again.

Robin Holley, September 2008

The trip was wonderful.  Thank you again.  We had great weather and did a lot of nothing.  Every day was split between the beach and the pool and back and forth.  We went to 3 restaurants and am drawing a blank on my favorite one.  It was just inside of Port St. Joe and looked out on the water.  (Note from Wendy:  I think they are talking about Sunset Coastal Grill--great views and great food!)  As I mentioned (on the phone), the boat ride was really exciting.  Seeing the dolphins swimming and playing around us was unreal.  I'm attaching some pictures of everyone playing on the beach and a few of the dolphins.

Thanks again for everything and I am definitely saving all your information for a future trip!

Family fall break beach trip to Cape San Blas FL

Eduardo Alvarez, July 2008 (South Florida)

Thanks again for accommodating us at the last minute.  We hadn't planned to go to the Cape but we're glad we did.  Patty and I both had a wonderful time there.  Patty traditionally likes to spend the Labor Day weekend in Key West but I talked her into going to the Panhandle instead.  We'll stay longer the next time we come.

We met Donna on the way out.  That was great.  She's from South FLA too.  She told us how much she loved the area and how happy she was to be there.

Angela & Jennifer Fey, August 2008

We had a great time!  We plan on coming back with more family!  The dogs had an absolutely wonderful time and were worn out.  I think they are still sleeping.

Thank you very much for your hospitality, your condo was very nice and clean....Donna (our head housekeeper) was wonderful, she is a sweetheart.  We will keep in touch!

Robert Young, July 2008

We had a great time at Cape San Blas!  It was awesome and the condo couldn't have been nicer.  We were surprised at how many "extras" were provided.  It was very helpful.  We had 1 storm Thursday a.m. and it was gone by 9 or so, all the other days were sunny, unbelievable in July!

We went horseback riding, ate lots of seafood and, of course, spent many hours on the beach.  The dogs were in heaven!  I have never seen them so tired.  It is such a beautiful place.  We will definitely be back!!

Kerri Heiden,  June/July 2008 (McDonough, GA)

The Cape & The Cape Escape were more than we expected.  Truly, we were swept away.  I had not imagined in all of my mind to feel so safe, so welcome to a community of which I had never been.  My family and I were double-taken at the sincerity throughout all guests we met and their seemingly intered nature in who we were and "oh, your dogs are so beautiful.'  We ALL lust loved our stay.  Our experience was heart-warming.  As we drove away, my daughter yelled from the backseat, 'Goodbye vacation house, see you later...'

We had an amazing evening when we were able to share with a great family we met on the beach.  Ryan built a fire in the sand to roast marshmallows and we soaked up 'together' time as a family, dogs included.  We were excited and very surprised to see how uncrowded the beach was.  Such a warm, cozy feeling.

All the amenities were so awesome and ever so appreciated.  Seahorse Water Safaris was a sheer BLAST---goodness!  A BLAST!! SUPER service too, they were great to us!

SO many great memories Wendy.  As we were packing up to come back home we realized that our extra popsicles would not go with us, as they were never survive the heat, so we hit the beach and began to pass them all out.  My daughter was so eager to use her "nice manners and share."  She said, 'Mommy, some people may not have things like this so I think it would be a good idea to share...'  So sweet, melted my heart!

Thank you for being a part!  I'll send you pictures as soon as the busy work week ahead comes to a halt!

Your place is extraordinary!

Lori, Jacob & Jennah Tomaszewski,  June 2008  (Repeat Guests)

As usual, Turtle Crawl provided us with the best vacation ever.  I told the kids while we were there that I'd love to stay 2 weeks next year...who am I kidding?  We actually never want to leave.  "The Cape"'s beautiful, relaxing & fabulous!  We couldn't have had better weather either.  Our schedule was basicallth the same each day.  We used no alarm clock and didnt' care what time it was.  We had absolutely no schedule to follow and it was wonderful.  I ened up gettin gburt to a crisp, but even that didn't stop me from going to the beach every day.

Thanks again Wendy and enjoy the rest of your summer...Till next year!

Rhett & Linda Melerine (Mandeville, LA) & Brenda and Dave Leffler (Breckenridge, CO), June 2008

We had a great time and love Cape San Blas and your condo!  Our family rented a total of 3 condos and the one we rented from you was definitely the nicest and most well equipped condo.  It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle and really relaxed a few days.  It was also fun watching our dogs enjoy themselves too.  Bayou, Sadie and Roux were worn out by the time we left.  Our avalanche rescue dog, Roux (Golden Retriever) even enjoyed the surf.  We didn't get a chance to bury someone and test her talents in sand but I'm sure she would have been able to do it!

Marie Persuad & Family,  May 2008

The Cape was everything you said it would be and more.  The house was very nice and comfortable.  The beach was amazing and being able to vacation with our dog just added to the fun that we had.  My family and I enjoyed everything about the place and the surroundings and they really enjoyed the fresh shrimp.  Thank you so much!

Angela & Marty Herndon, May 2008

We had a terrific time.  I think we especially enjoyed our fishing trip and watching Lucky "prance around" on the beach.  The condo was terrific, everything we needed was provided.  Thank you for sharing it with us!  If you go to Book Me a Charter you'll see pictures of Marty and I with our catches.....

Andrea Mann (May 2008)

What a beautiful and quiet paradise you have at Cape San Blas.  We had a wonderful time just relaxing at the beach everyday.  The dogs had an excellent time playing on the beach.  We took them at least twice a day!  Our boxer would not stop playing.   The rest of the day they just slept.  I think they are kinda bored being at home. A lot of people thought we were crazy to take our dogs on vacation but we met many vacationers who love their dogs just as much as we do!  We all thought it was funny to pick a vacation spot just because of your dog.

We went to the pool a couple of times and the guys fished off the shore while the girls just laid out.  The baby wasn't sure about the water, but he loved just playing on the beach. Se had a seafood night the last night we were there, even though the guys didn't catch anything but catfish --HAHA!

We had everything we need and the condo was perfect.  We did not want to leave!!  We decided, even before we left, that we were going to plan another trip for next year.  Thank you so much for everything you have done for us.  We couldn't have asked for anymore.

Julia & Ivan Espada, April 23 - May, 3, 2007 (Newlyweds :-)  )

Thank you for allowing us to stay in such a wonderful place!  It was definitely what we needed!  We got way too much sun the first day we were there because it as overcast outside and we didn't realize until that evening that we were burned!  Ivan went fishing almost every day that he was there.  He caught quite a few catfish, some sort of other fish with a black tip on it's fin and about 3 small sharks!  He only kept 1 fish and that was a 15 lb redfish!  We met a lot of nice people on the beach.

Our Great Dane, Spartan, had a wonderful time!  He was a little bit afraid of the ocean at first but by the last day he was getting a bit brave!  You would think a dog that size wouldn't be afraid of much but he's the biggest baby I've ever known.  He was actually quite the movie star around there.  Everywhere we went with him people would say "Oh, looks like a dog we saw on the beach this morning!"  He's a very handsome boy and very, very unique looking.  We only had 1 day of calm waters.  I think there was a storm out there some where, but that as OK with Ivan, he still went fishing everyday.

Once again, thank you so much and I look forward to contacting you again somewhere down the road so that we can come and visit again!

Great Dane enjoying Cape San Blas FL with his owner! Great Dog beach!

Jan Masica, Dexter, MI, April 19-May 3, 2008

We are on our way home to Michigan and already panning for next year's trip to the Cape.  We had 2 BEAUTIFUL weeks at Turtle Crawl!  The weather was wonderful, sun every day with temps in the 70's and 80's.  Because of our hectic lives at home, we really enjoyed our "simple" daily routine of running the dogs on the beach followed by hours of lounging around or waling the beach.  The dogs absolutely loved their stay too, and they are thoroughly exhausted!

Thank you Wendy for providing everything that you do at Turtle Crawl.  We love the fact that we can walk right in and feel at home immediately.  We can't say enough about Cape San Blas and Turtle Crawl.

Marianne Walker, Kennesaw, GA, April 2008

Got back this evening tired and happy, but we had to tell you we had and AWESOME time at your home.  It was truly superb and hope to repeat the experience.  Thanks for making a great get away possible!

Diana Smith, Louisville, KY, April 2008

We just got back from spending an absolutely wonderful time at Barrier Dunes (Turtle Crawl - Unit 191)!  This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed!  The rental is gorgeous and it had everything we ever needed!!!  I spent most of my days reading and relaxing on the deck.  I injured my leg right before we left for this vacation and was able to go to the beach but that was okay because I was able to see it and hear it from Barrier Dunes 191~  Thank Goodness!

I enjoyed the Cape so much that I would like to bring my daughter and 2 lovely granddaughters down in July.  Look forward to visiting the Cape again soon!!  Thank you so much!!

Patty Rund, March 2008 (repeat guest)

We had a great time a gain at the Cape -- fantastic weather (70's and sunshine) and super low-key relaxing time.  Condo was great - nice to be so close to the beach!

Phil Evans, March 2008

We had a wonderful stay just relaxing in the "home away from home" you have created at Turtle Crawl.  I only regret we couldn't take you up on your generous offer for the other 2 days!

We had fun sampling some of the local restraurants, but our favorite was "Toucans."  The burgers were huge, the fries exceptional and the locations so close to the water that you could almost feel the sand between your toes.  We wandered through a lot of the local shops and even managed to hit the local Goodwill store where I found assessories for my Ipod.  The beach was great for walking, but the water was till too cold for our blood.  We spent a little time walking on the beach in the state park just down the road and went down to the large pipe sticking out of the water.  Folks were fishing there so we headed back to the van and another dinner on the town.  We even found the local humane society where I almost brought another dog home with me.  Better sense prevailed and we came home with just our 10 pound cat chaser!

I think that most of my remaining vacation for this year has already been allocated for other purposes, but your condo will remain hight on our list of places we want to return to.  Thanks for inviting us again!

Devon Rudloff, March 2008

Boo and I enjoyed our stay there and we will be back again!  Thank you again for everything. You guys are great.  I'll be sending other "dog lovers" your way for their vacation R&R spot!  Take care!

Elmer and Krista Fibranz - Winter 2007/2008

We just came home and received your check in the mail.  Thank you for mailing it so promptly.

We came home and it was 14F.  Oh, do we miss Barrier Dunes.  We love it there and know we will be back....Today it is 34F and we think it feels beter already.  I keep telling all the friends how nice it is in Cape San Blas.  Take care and we pay we all stay well!

Tim Tehan, January 2008

Thanks for a great week at your lovely beach house!  We were very comfortable and got just what we needed... solitude, quiet and beautiful enviornmental surroundings.  We enjoyed your home and its amenities and will be back again.  Thank you for the rental and the speedy refund of the security deposit.

Missy Goodwin and Family - November 2007

Oh my goodness - we had a great, great time.  The weather was beautiful and we couldn't have had a better week.  We felt so safe with a gated community!  The beaches were spectacular and clean  and the shelling was so much fun.  We loved Indian Pass Raw Bar.  We loved Apalachicola.  We had so much fun watching your bonfires from our deck.

We will definitely be back and will send some pictures for your website!

Linda Hottenstein, September 2007

We had a wonderful time on our Cape Escape.  The weather was perfect and the dogs made some new pals.  We actually saw baby turtles running to the ocean!  We loved the Turtle Crawl unit.  Thanks so much!

Sean and Martha Price (August 2007)

Thank you so much for all your great help.  The vacation was perfect, better than we expected.  The house is absolutely beautiful and has everything we needed and more.  We were sad that we didn't have enough time to stay longer, that is a place to stay at least a week.  We really didn't want to come back home, but we hope soon we can book a longer stay there!!

Zeus, our golden retriever, had a great time, he loved it!!  At first he got a little sick because he drank the ocean water, but after that he learned and he enjoyed the beach and the new friends like nobody else!

Our other family members were very impressed with the location and they all asked us for the link and your phone number.  We surely need to go back!!  Thank you for making this vacation one of the best!

Toi Wilson (July 2007)

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation.  Turtle Crawl is great!  My kids are already asking when we can go back.  George and I could not believe all the personal touches in the condo such as the beach stuff, spice rack and outdoor shower.  This was certainly our best time ever at the beach.

Murphy (the Mastiff) did not like the beach as much as Ruben and I would walk on the beach and he would run full speed into the waves.  It was really funny.  We drove down to Panama City on Wednesday and went to the water park.  The kids loved it.  Davis and George went fishing and bike riding on Friday while Lindsey and I went shopping in Apalachicola.  The weather was great all week!

TJ and Brooke Ballard (June 2007)

We had a wonderful time and hated to leave.  Excellent time, have been suggesting it to everyone that asks.  I did go fishing one day and caught a whiting.  Went to the state park, of course.  We did drive to Mexico beach for happy hour only to fine out that it was only 3, not 4 o'clock (central time zone), great food though.  Ate at Coneheads 3 tiles and on the last night went into Port St. Joe and had pizza at Hungry Howie's.  The dogs had a great time in the evenings on the beach, too hot during the day.

You did an awesome job with the organization of the entire trip.  From all the materials at the condo to communication, excellent.   I would have to say top to bottom, this was the best vacation I have ever had.

I did have someone ask while we were there if all our chairs and things came with the condo and I was proud to say YES!!  Then I went on to say Wendy's Cape Escape, she will take care of you.

Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to making this an excellent vacation destination.

Andreas & Laura Harth:  Excerpt from the Dachshund Diary April/May 2007

Dear Miss Wendy,

I wanted to thank you for making my "mommy" and :daddy" so happy during their stay at Turtle Crawl.  I don't know what you did, but they didn't stop smiling and grinning the entire week!  I was pretty happy too, since usually I get left behind for all the good trips.  They took me to the beach every day!  The sun shined EVERY DAY!  And they brought my leash, but they actually let me run without it for what seemed like miles!  Aren't they great??!!

I saw dolphin from our deck, Miss Wendy-right off the beach in front of Turtle Crawl!  Mommy saw them too and she ran and got pictures.  I think she's sending one to you.  That's nothing though, I chased a crab-ok, I ran from a crab--and saw different types of marine life every day.  I also got some of the finest seafood leftovers, freshly caught scallops, crab, shrimp and oysters from local restaurants.  Mommy and daddy got takeout from Loggerhead Grill to eat on our own deck because Turtle Crawl was too great to leave behind--they said we didn't need a restaurant!  I even got to go to Steamer in Apalachicola and eat on the patio overlooking a harbor with mom and dad.  AND we had a bonfire on the beach at sunset one night--we had the coast to ourselves!

We met lots of nice people at the beach with their pets.  Everyone was so friendly, many were fishing off the beach and getting a lot of action and everyone was offering advice on where to eat, what to do, etc.  WE already knew most of what Cape San Blas had to offer because of your website and all the research and brochures in the guest book.  (can a dog sound cheesy?  I am not trying to be, but we were just all sooo happy!)

I think we felt spoiled by the end of the week.  The provisions, the attention to details like the private shower - I relaxed after realizing the water was warm -- and the well equipped kitchen, the ability to step out the door and walk a few steps to the beach...It was nice to lay on the blanket on the master deck at Turtle Crawl while mommy and daddy took pictures of the sunset, and to join them every day for long walks and hanging out seaside.  Thanks again for everything!!! WE will be back!  Also enclosed are a few pictures, you can see me next to daddy at the bonfire.

Love and thanks for giving us lots of "new favorites",

We really enjoyed our vacation.  Every time I thought I needed something it was there.  So many thoughtful additions that other vacation rentals don't have.  We are already talking about going back!

We had a wonderful time.  Turtle Crawl was great!  I left a kite in the beach closet for future guests as well.  I've attached a picture of myself, Jacque, Christian, Morgan and Buster!

(January - March 2007)

Things we really liked or enjoyed about our stay:

Very homey & comfortable townhouse, well equipped and thoughtfully decorated.

Close to the beach, safe walking paths & roads

Loved all 3 porches!

Pet friendly--great to have the dogs with us!

Firely people in the complex.

Cheryl's excercise class -  the best -- met lots of nice ladies (and a few men) there!

We had such a great time at Cape San Blas.  We got a lot of down time and got to read and explore the area.  The dogs just loved the beach!  They'll go through withdrawal when they see the snow at home!

Thanks for providing us with such a great place to vacation!  We would like to come down again next year for the same amount of time!

Rosalie Simone, January 2007 (Wisconsin Rapids, WI)

Thanks Wendy!  We did have a good time.  We cut the trip short becuase we noticed Kinsey (13+ years) was not doing well.  Unfortunately, she died before we got home.  She loved being wheeled around in her dog buggy!  It was a wonderful last vacation for her!

Kona loved the Gulf -- got wiped out a couple of times by waves and couldn't quite catch any of the shore birds she chased!  We'll try and send some pictures of them.  Thanks again for your hospitality!
